This is the 'room at the top' of the Guildhall building, with a character of its own. It once served as the Town Assembly
Room, and is now the scene of regular Town Council meetings.
Measuring 44 x 18 feet it has a handsome timbered floor, ample seating, a large oak table and - its piece de resistance – a
small minstrel's gallery! The table, of course, can be removed and the seating re-arranged, as required.
This very bright room, with views of the Churchyard,
is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and is the most popular choice for the solemnization out of the three licensed rooms. For packages and prices please contact our Bookings Clerk for more information.
