n the first floor of the Medieval Guildhall building is the charming room that was once the Town Hall. This room is full of character with original beams galore and a beautiful wooden floor. Unfortunately, this does mean that no dancing can take place in this room; but the Guildroom is just directly below and the Dining Room accessible at the bottom of the main stairwell into the Old Town Hall.

It measures 61 ft x 21.5 ft, features a rare crown-and-post ceiling, a polished timber floor and leaded windows that overlook the pretty garden on the west side. Unfortunately it is only accessible by a number of stairs.

Ideally suited to banquets and wedding receptions, the room will accommodate up to 120 people. There is a fully equipped kitchen separated by serving doors at one end. This was recently refurbished, in October 2020.

This room is licensed for civil marriage ceremonies to take place, and looks stunning with centre aisle and ceremony table.
