On the first floor of the Medieval Guildhall building is the charming room that was once the Town Hall. This room is full of character with original beams galore and a beautiful wooden floor. Unfortunately, this does mean that no dancing can take place in this room; but the Guildroom is just directly below and the Dining Room accessible at the bottom of the main stairwell into the Old Town Hall.
61 ft x 21.5 ft, features a rare crown-and-post ceiling, a polished timber floor and leaded windows that overlook the pretty
garden on the west side. Unfortunately it is only accessible by a number of stairs.
Ideally suited to banquets and wedding receptions, particularly those events that call for long tables to be set up, the
room will accommodate 120 people, and has a fully equipped kitchen separated by serving doors at one end. This was recently refurbished, in October 2020. This room is licensed for the for civil marriage ceremonies to take place.
